Buying Diamonds Online From The UK

Hi Liz,

I’m looking to buy a diamond online from the UK. I want to spend approximately £3000 on an engagement ring. A 6 prong platinum band. Preference on cut, colour (say Excellent and DEF). Willing to compromise on clarity down to SI1 but having trouble finding an eye-clean SI1 diamond. Around 0.9carat.

Was hoping you could point out a few eye clean SI1 diamonds to the above spec. Thanks.

Thanks for contacting me. If you are setting the diamond in a platinum setting, I would suggest lowering your color grade to include J and above. This will give you a larger selection of diamonds that fit your carat weight criteria as well as fit within your given budget.

This diamond is slightly over budget but delivers on everything that you are looking for. It has ideal cut proportions for maximum brilliance and light reflection, F color grade, and an eye-clean SI1 clarity grade. The grade making inclusion is a feather followed by a small crystal. The feather is not located under the main table facet, so this is a great example of an eye-clean diamond.

Yes I have ordered the 0.86ct – it just seemed perfect. I liked that it was a higher colour grade too. I have been in contact with Meredith from Enchanted Diamonds and I have arranged to collect it from the NYC store as I we are visiting in November anyway and that’s when I wanted to propose.
