Thank you for this website, I’ve learned so much!
I didn’t know that Blue Nile now had diamond pictures available for some of their diamonds. I used your instructions on Blue Nile’s diamond visualization tool and found a princess cut diamond that I’d like your opinion on.
Would you kindly comment on this princess cut diamond from Blue Nile? http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD07784888
Thanks in advance.
I’m glad that ODBA has been helpful to you. Yes, Blue Nile’s new 360 view for diamonds is an invaluable tool! You cannot buy a princess cut diamond (or any other fancy shaped diamond for that matter) without seeing an actual magnified picture first. I’m pleased you took advantage of this knowledge. 😉
I took a look at the 1.01ct H VS1: http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD07784888 and think it is a lovely stone! This particular princess cut diamond has 4 chevrons in the pavilion.
If you have done your princess cut diamond research, you’ll know that not all princess cut diamonds are cut the same. Some have 2 or 3 chevrons cut into the pavilion. The amount of chevrons affects how the princess cut diamond will reflect light. Here’s a great article going into detail about this very important topic: http://www.onlinediamondbuyingadvice.com/princess-cut-engagement-rings/
In your case, this princess will appear to have many tiny white flashes of light!
I can offer you a $100 discount if you go with this diamond! Just use this code when you checkout: BNDIAMONDLX9ZL (p.s. ODBA readers: this code is only valid for 1 time use. Please contact me for your code.)
