BGD Solitaire Diamond Necklace

“Looking For A Solitaire Diamond Necklace – Eye-clean And Sparkle Are My Top Two Priorities Followed By Color And Carat Weight”

Q:

Hi Liz,

First I wanted to thank you for your article. It taught me about the depth and table on a diamond and it’s importance.

I have a question about selecting a diamond necklace for my girlfriend. I’m looking for a round cut, at least J color and S2 clarity depending on if it’s eye clean. I’m only looking for .25 of a carat all for under $600. I’m curious if I’m focusing on the correct things. Eye clean and sparkle are my top two priorities followed by color and carat.

Thoughts?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Depending on whether you want the diamond set in white gold or yellow gold, here is a traditional four-prong basket setting for $195.00: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamond-pendants/4-prong-pendant-14k-white-gold-5481w14

four prong diamond pendant

Traditional four prong diamond pendant from Brian Gavin Diamonds.

I recommend this diamond for you: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/0.307-j-si1-round-diamond-ags-c-104062430015

This diamond’s cut is AGS Triple 0 ideal, near-colorless (J) and SI1 (eye-clean) for $427.00. A beautiful diamond for a great price. Cut is always priority #1, followed by color/clarity (depending on personal taste). This diamond is the best cut and carat weight available for your budget.

Kind Regards,

Liz

Hi Liz,

.310ct H SI2 from Brian Gavin Diamonds

John’s .310ct H SI2 from Brian Gavin Diamonds.

I wanted to follow up with you and thank you for your help. I ended up going with the diamond below and the pendant you suggested. With the Black Friday sale from Brian Gavin Diamonds, I was able to a little better color but it’s a SI2 (though I couldn’t spot in the inclusions on the video of the diamond) http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/0.310-h-si2-round-diamond-ags-104059065060

Thank you again for your time and expertise!

Happy Holidays,

John
