Five Stone Diamond Ring – Searching For Matching Stones

Q:

Hi Liz,

How are you? I don’t know if you remember me but you helped me with diamond ring upgrade years ago, then again with my brothers engagement ring a couple of years back.

Well I’ve got some exciting news. My husband has decided to buy me an anniversary ring for March this year, an amazing one in fact. πŸ™‚ I’m looking at a custom five stone diamond ring with the stone I already have. I’m going to buy the loose stones online and get them set by a jeweler local to me.

So I will require four round ideal cut stones. Looking at .60 size each budget $1900 max per stone. They will need to match my current stone which is a .90 I colour with fluorescence, it looks more like a F/G colour. Although I don’t want these stones to have fluorescence but match each other visually and close to the color range if possible.

I’m not fussy on retailer but I just received an email from Zoara offering 5% off diamonds when you purchase two or more at the moment.

Thank you and I await your assistance.

Kind regards,

Julie

Hi Julie,

I’ll have a look for you and get back to you.

I do think it will be immensely easier for you to go with Brian Gavin Diamonds as all of his diamonds are cut the exact same way. This way make your selection process much easier. His team also does excellent custom work.

He currently has two stones in stock that match your requirements:

I would contact his team and let him know what your project is. They can source the remaining stones for you and create the entire five stone diamond ring for you in house. They do excellent work.

Have a great weekend.

Best,

Liz

Q:

Hi Liz,

Thanks for your reply. I looked at the stones you mentioned, but my budget was $1900 USD per stone. So I might need to go to down in carat size slightly, I’m assuming it would be hardly even visually different? I looked at these .55 size stones which would fit in my budget. What are your thoughts on these?

Hi Julie,

Yes, you are correct, the size difference will not be noticeable.

I think those two diamonds are lovely. Gorgeous face up brilliance and of course super ideal hearts and arrows symmetry!

Have you contacted BGD yet? I think you’ll find them very easy to work with in procuring your other two stones for your five stone diamond ring.

Let me know if I can be of any additional assistance!

Best,

Liz

Q:

Hi Liz,

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have contacted them and they have held those diamonds in the mean time. They are currently working on pricing for the for five stone diamond ring setting.

They also recommend these two diamonds to make up the four in total. What are you thoughts on these? They have no photos yet as they haven’t been released but they have assured my they are eye-clean and would make a good match.

Do you think all the diamonds recommended would match my current I colored center stone with strong fluorescence, looking more like a F/G colour? I have attached a photo.

strong blue fluorescence in five stone diamond ringHi Julie,

I’m glad to hear that you are working with them – they are a great family business.

Yes, those two diamonds look like they’ll be a great fit for your ring.

Your diamond will look beautiful with these stones – no worries. As you have fluorescence, your diamond will blend beautifully, and how cool is it that one diamond in the center will have fluorescence? πŸ˜‰

Keep in touch!

Stay well,

Liz

Q:

Hi Liz,

Thanks for your reply. Yes it will be a special stone πŸ™‚ I’ve also thought about the cut of my diamond compared the standard of BGD’s ones. I know mine is a ideal cut to hearts and arrows proportions but do you think it will look different to the BGD ones? I’ve included a copy of my diamond report and images for your opinion.

Kind regards,

Julie

A:

Hi Julie,

You’re diamond will blend perfectly. You don’t have anything to worry about.

No diamond is exactly like another – we can be precise in cut proportions, but the beauty of diamonds is that each is unique. Your diamond will look great in the five stone diamond ring yet still have it’s unique properties. It’s a fun project – I’m excited for you. πŸ˜‰

Liz
